Food South Australia's team brings a broad range of industry and related experience, and a strong passion for the sector to the table to help you reach your business goals. Our team includes expert staff based in Adelaide, Japan and China.

 

Catherine Sayer - Chief Executive Officer

 

Catherine has led Food South Australia since it was established in 2010. As CEO, Catherine ensures Food South Australia members are supported to grow and thrive. With extensive experience in the industry and working with key stakeholders, Catherine's philosophy is that industry success comes from clear and consistent communication, and supporting outcomes for industry. Catherine's door is always open to members to ensure your voice is heard where it needs to be heard. 

 

 

 

Industry and business development - Samara Miller

 

Samara's experience includes a range of roles in industry and government, including in the seafood sector. Samara is responsible for development and delivery of programs designed to help your business grow capability and capacity, including the Business Growth Program which provides tailored support to help you develop a strong and sustainable business and meet your growth goals.

 

 

 

South Australia Food & Beverage Export Hub - Annabel Mugford

 

Annabel has extensive experience in the wine, food and agricultural sectors including new business, product and export market development, and has previously had a range of roles in industry associations and government. At Food South Australa, Annabel manages the South Australia Food and Beverage Export Hub, which is the program you need to be part of if you are considering exporting for the first time or you are looking to expand into new export markets. 

 

 

Export Hub project management - Giancarlo Cassinelli 

 

Giancarlo's experience includes various international business development and brand positioning roles across the fresh produce and wine sectors. Giancarlo works with Annabel in the South Australia Food and Beverage Export Hub program and is your go-to expert for export to markets with Free Trade Agreements either in place or in development. 

 

 

 

Market development and membership - Darren Curnow

 

Darren has extensive experience across retail, food service and convenience channels and is here to connect members with the right distributors, buyers, retailers and service providers to reach your domestic market goals. As our Membership Manager, Darren is also the person to call to discuss your needs to help you grow, and how we can tailor your Food South Australia membership package to help you realise your business objectives. 

 

 

 

Industry liaison - Iris Tordjeman

Iris provides industry liaison support to Food South Australia's growth programs and is currently undertaking a Food SA research project investigating opportunities for South Australian food and beverage businesses in packaging innovation. 

 

Trade shows and membership administration - Carla Ambrose

 

Carla has a background in experiential marketing for FMCG brands in the UK, and is the administrator of our trade show program. Carla also provides industry development and membership support services, including managing updates to member directory profiles and providing finance and administratrion support.

 

 

 

Program support - Joseph Hutt

 

Joseph has joined the Food SA team to provide support to the Business Growth Program.

 

 

 

 

The South Australian Premier's Food and Beverage Industry Awards, 

Food SA events and sponsorship - Kathryn Pullman

 

Kathryn has extensive experience in destination marketing and event management, having spent over 20 years in Australia's business events industry. Kathryn manages Food SA's sponsorship program, our events and the South Australian Premier's Food and Beverage Industry Awards program. 

 

 

 

Awards and administration support - Fiona Aitken

 

With a background in retail, advertising and public relations, Fiona provides support for Food South Australia events and the South Australian Premier's Food and Beverage Industry Awards Program. Fiona also manages our ENews subscriptions lists and helps members ensure you are receiving our ENews and industry updates.

 

 

 

Communications projects - Lee Welch

 

Lee brings her experience in marketing and business communications to her role managing communications projects for Food South Australia, including our publications and digital platforms and our database. Lee also manages the Eat Local SA program and Food South Australia's industry research activities including the State of the Industry benchmarking reports.

 

 

 

Communications support - Lucy Connell

 

Lucy produces and manages content for Food South Australia's digital platforms including for Eat Local SA and the South Australian Premier's Food and Beverage Industry Awards and our publications. Lucy completed her Bachelor of Marketing and Communications in 2018 and also works for a range of food and beverage companies with a focus on digital communications. 

 

 

 

Finance and administration - Wendy Whiley

 

 

Wendy is responsible for general and finance administration for Food South Australia, including membership renewals and administration support for our Board Wendy has a background in human resources/recruitment and general administration. Wendy is in the office Wednesday to Friday.
